Italy's renowned textile machinery sector is reinforcing its ties with Turkey, solidifying its position as one of the leading suppliers of cutting-edge technology to the Turkish textile and garment industry. With Turkey ranking as the second-largest foreign market for Italian textile machinery exports, valued at 183 million euros ($199.14 million) in 2023, the significance of this partnership cannot be overstated.

The upcoming ITM industry trade fair, scheduled to take place in Istanbul from 4th to 8th June 2024, serves as a testament to the enduring collaboration between Italian machinery manufacturers and Turkish textile producers. Italian exhibitors are poised to showcase their latest innovations and solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of the Turkish market.

A notable presence at ITM will be the Italian pavilion organized by the Italian Trade Agency and ACIMIT (Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers), featuring 16 companies eager to engage with Turkish counterparts. Among these exhibitors are prominent names like Bematic, Kairos, Macchine Carù, and Martex, representing the pinnacle of Italian textile machinery expertise.

He noted, "From 2011 to 2023, the local textile industry invested roughly US$ 80 billion in new technologies, with a significant portion allocated to the acquisition of Italian machinery."

The Italian textile machinery sector prides itself on its ability to provide state-of-the-art solutions to enhance efficiency and optimize production processes. Salvadè underscored the importance of digitalization in driving competitiveness, highlighting the latest technological developments showcased by Italian exhibitors at ITM. These advancements promise to elevate the Turkish textile industry to new heights by enabling manufacturers to streamline operations and meet market demands more effectively.

Salvadè expressed confidence that visitors to ITM will find the Italian exhibitors' offerings to be instrumental in bolstering the competitiveness of Turkish textiles. By leveraging Italy's expertise and innovation, Turkish manufacturers stand poised to enhance their global market position and seize new opportunities for growth.
