Under Armour Introduces NEOLAST™: A Game-Changing Innovation in Performance Gear

Under Armour, renowned for revolutionizing athletic apparel with its original performance stretch and compression technology, continues to push boundaries with its latest material innovation: NEOLAST™. On May 13th, Under Armour will unveil the first product featuring NEOLAST™ on UA.com, marking a significant milestone in the brand's commitment to performance and sustainability.

The Vanish Pro tees, crafted with NEOLAST fibers, are designed to meet the rigorous demands of athletic training while embodying a timeless aesthetic to keep athletes focused during workouts. NEOLAST fibers offer exceptional durability and fit, providing athletes with a high-powered garment that stands the test of time.

Announced in January 2024, NEOLAST™ represents a breakthrough in elastane alternatives, addressing key sustainability challenges such as recyclability and solvent use. This innovative material combines performance and sustainability improvements, offering a lightweight, stretchy, breathable, and fast-drying fabric that feels as good on as it is for the environment.

John Hardy III, Senior Director of Product at Under Armour, highlights the minimalist design approach of the Vanish Pro tee, allowing the NEOLAST material to shine. "The Vanish Pro tee’s durable material will not only increase its lifespan, it will offer consistent fit and stretch throughout the garment’s life," he states, emphasizing the brand's pride in introducing the first apparel featuring this innovation.

In a nod to its heritage, the Vanish Pro NEOLAST tees pay homage to Under Armour's original compression tee, with an inverted color scheme from white to black, showcasing the brand's evolution while maintaining its iconic branding.

Kyle Blakely, Senior Vice President of Innovation, Development & Testing at Under Armour, underscores the brand's commitment to sustainability and performance. "Part of the beauty of this material innovation is the value we’ve been able to add by taking things away," Blakely explains. "The Vanish Pro is a highly durable, performance stretch tee made without elastane or solvents — and it’s just the beginning of NEOLAST’s potential."

Under Armour aims to lead the transition to a circular economy in the apparel industry, with NEOLAST fiber innovation supporting its goal to eliminate spandex in its products by 75 percent by 2030. As the brand continues to scale and evolve, it remains dedicated to pushing boundaries, delivering better-performing gear that benefits both athletes and the planet.
