Uniqlo Unveils Ambitious Plans to Double North American Presence in 2024

Global retail giant Uniqlo is poised to embark on an ambitious expansion in North America, aiming to double its presence in the region with the opening of over 20 new stores in 2024. The brand, known for its innovative LifeWear collections for men, women, and kids, will concentrate its expansion efforts in both eastern and western regions, including venturing into new markets.

Since inaugurating its first North American location in the US in 2005, Uniqlo has been offering a distinctive guest experience with its thoughtfully crafted LifeWear clothing. Designed to enhance everyday life, LifeWear is characterized by its simplicity, high quality, and constant evolution to meet the evolving needs of modern life.

The upcoming expansion builds upon the momentum generated in 2022, aligning with Uniqlo's vision to reach 200 stores in North America by 2027. CEO of Uniqlo North America, Daisuke Tsukagoshi, expressed excitement about the next phase of expansion, emphasizing the importance of stores as the heartbeat of their business. He stated, "Stores are where we can engage with our local communities, hear directly from our customers, and best understand their needs to continue to improve and perfect our products. We're looking forward to a big year ahead."

Uniqlo North America reported significant growth for the fiscal year ending on August 31, 2023, and anticipates the continuation of robust results in 2024. Alongside the accelerated pace of new store openings, the company aims for double-digit sales growth in its existing stores, according to a press release.

The brand's recent success with its viral mini shoulder bag and exciting designer collaborations has propelled Uniqlo to global popularity. The company remains dedicated to building deeper connections with customers as it evolves its world-class retail experience, opening doors to new markets and communities throughout North America.

As Uniqlo sets its sights on expanding its footprint in the US and Canada, the move signals confidence in the brand's ability to resonate with consumers and meet the growing demand for its unique and high-quality offerings. The year 2024 is poised to be a significant milestone in Uniqlo's North American journey as it continues to redefine the retail landscape with its innovative approach to clothing and commitment to customer engagement.
